The Best Video Production Houses in Dubai: What Separates Them, What They Cost and How to Choose One (2026)

Guide · 8 min read

Dubai has hundreds of companies that will make you a video. A much smaller number can take a brief, turn it into an idea, shoot it properly, finish it for every platform, and deliver on the date they promised. The gap between the two groups is not always visible from a website or a showreel, and choosing wrong costs more than the budget: it costs the launch, the campaign or the pitch the film was for.

This guide sets out the eight things the best video production houses in Dubai have in common, what production actually costs here, the red flags that predict a bad project, and the questions that reveal which group a company belongs to. We are a production studio ourselves, so we have written it as the checklist we would want a client to bring to us.

What the best production houses have in common

1. They start with the objective, not the shot list

The best studios ask what the film has to achieve before they ask what you want in it. Expect questions about audience, platform, the decision the viewer should make, and how success will be measured. A company that jumps straight to “how many shoot days?” is selling days, not results.

2. Idea, production and post under one roof

Dubai’s strongest houses keep creative development, filming and post-production in-house or under one accountable producer. When scripting is done by an agency, the shoot by a freelance crew, and the edit by a third company, nobody owns the outcome. Ask who is responsible for the final film.

3. Live action and animation together

Most campaigns now need both: a filmed brand story, a 3D product or property visualisation, an animated explainer and motion-graphic social cuts. Studios that produce animation in-house, rather than subcontracting it, plan mixed-media work as one job. At Zaini Media, animation is roughly 40% of what we produce, alongside film and post; our animation studio and film production teams sit together.

4. Bilingual by default

Arabic and English scripting, voiceover, subtitling, and on-screen typography are not add-ons in the UAE. The best houses have Arabic writers and voice talent in the process from the first draft, and understand Gulf dialect versus Modern Standard Arabic for different audiences.

5. Permits, approvals and protocol handled

Filming in Dubai and Abu Dhabi involves location permits, drone licensing, and, for government and semi-government clients, approval workflows and protocol on set. Experienced houses manage all of this without the client having to learn it. It is a strong indicator of maturity: ask how they handled permits on their last three shoots.

6. Platform-ready delivery

A master file is not a deliverable. The best studios plan the LinkedIn version with captions, the vertical Reels reframe, the six-second pre-roll, and the broadcast-compliant version before the shoot, so the footage supports all of them. Our guide to high-quality filmmaking explains why this has to be decided in pre-production.

7. Fixed, itemised quotes

Top production houses quote line by line: creative days, shoot days, crew, equipment, talent, animation, edit, grade, sound, versions, revision rounds. A single lump-sum number with “video production” next to it is how scope disputes begin.

8. Evidence

Case studies with the client’s objective and the result, not just a montage. Named clients where permitted. Reviews on independent platforms. Registrations with bodies such as Abu Dhabi’s Creative Media Authority, of which Zaini Media is a registered partner.

What video production costs in Dubai

Prices vary with ambition, but for a realistic 2026 picture:

  • Simple corporate video (one shoot day, small crew, 2–3 minute master plus social cuts): roughly AED 15,000–40,000
  • Brand film or high-end corporate (multi-day, director, full lighting and sound, colour grade, versions): AED 40,000–150,000
  • TV or digital commercial (agency-level creative, talent, multiple locations, VFX): AED 100,000–500,000+
  • 2D animated explainer (60–90 seconds): AED 15,000–50,000
  • 3D visualisation or product animation: AED 30,000–200,000+ depending on complexity
  • Post-production only (edit, grade, sound for supplied footage): from AED 5,000

If a quote sits far below these ranges, something on the checklist above has been removed. That can be appropriate for an internal update; it is a risk for anything the business depends on.

Red flags

  • No questions about the objective before quoting
  • A showreel with no full-length examples behind it
  • “We can do it for whatever your budget is” without changing the scope
  • No named producer or point of contact
  • Vague answers on who owns the footage and project files
  • No Arabic capability in-house
  • No process for approvals; “we'll fix it in revisions”

Eight questions to ask before you sign

  1. Who is the producer responsible for this project from brief to delivery?
  2. Can we see two projects like ours, with the brief and the result?
  3. Which parts are done in-house and which are subcontracted?
  4. How will Arabic scripting and voice be handled?
  5. What versions and formats are included in the price?
  6. How many revision rounds, and at which stages?
  7. Who handles permits, and what happens if a location falls through?
  8. What do we own at the end: masters, raw footage, project files, characters?

A house that answers all eight clearly, in writing, is on the shortlist.

( Questions we actually get asked )

Frequently asked

Who are the best video production companies in Dubai?

The best are those that combine creative development, production and post-production under one accountable team, work in Arabic and English, handle UAE permits and approvals, and deliver platform-ready versions with itemised quotes. Use the eight criteria above to compare candidates.

Should I choose a production house or a freelancer?

Freelancers suit simple, single-format videos. Anything with a script, multiple locations, animation, approvals, or several platform versions benefits from a production house with a producer accountable for the whole job.

How long does video production take in Dubai?

A corporate film typically takes three to five weeks; a commercial four to eight weeks; an animated explainer three to six weeks, depending on approvals.

Do Dubai production houses also work in Abu Dhabi?

Some do. Check for experience with Abu Dhabi government protocol and permits, and for registration with the Creative Media Authority.
